Mike Wilson Reaches 100 North Husky Victories!

In the history of Evansville football, few men have achieved the milestone of 100 varsity football victories at a single school.  The feat has only been achieved ten times in one hundred years.  As North Coach Mike Wilson nears that historic mark, we thought to include a chart of the city of Evansville's greatest coaches and Coach Wilson's place amongst them.

Having already won 52 games at Olney's East Richland High before coming to Evansville North in 1989, the Husky head coach has already eclipsed 150 career victories.

Throughout his journey from 1989 to the present, Coach Wilson has had Assistant Coach Marty Ohlsen at his side.  Together the two have worked to build the program from a team that won six games in the seven seasons prior to their arrival into a powerhouse that has won FIVE Sectional championships along with Regional, Semi-State, SIAC, and City Titles.

Please help us extend our congratulations to Coach Wilson and Coach Ohlsen as they reach this historic milestone.

Husky Varsity Head Football Coach

Mike Wilson

2007 marks Coach Wilson's 19th season at North High School with 106 career wins while coaching the Huskies.  Was head football coach for 9 seasons at Olney (East Richland) High School in Illinois and compiled a 52-33 record there.  Overall coaching record of 158-136 as of Nov 3, 2007.  During his tenure as head coach of the Huskies he has won the Evansville newspaper's "Metro Coach Of The Year" award, and his teams have won 5 sectional titles, a City championship, a S.I.A.C. conference title, and a Semi-State championship.  His teams have produced 63 Evansville All-City players and three 'Player Of The Year' selections .  He played linebacker in college for Eastern Illinois University.

 Husky Varsity Assistant Football Coach

Marty Ohlsen

Also entering his 19th season at North High School, Coach Ohlsen has been the team's Defensive Coordinator since 1998.  Prior to that he was the Offensive Line Coach from 1989 to 1997--a nine year stretch during which North produced 13 All-City offensive linemen.  Coach Olsen began his coaching career at East Richland High School and was a three year starter at offensive tackle for North Central College.
